What "best results" means
OPI's 24-month guidance is about performance. As solvents evaporate, polish thickens, streaks and takes longer to dry. An older bottle is rarely a safety problem, but it will not give you the smooth finish it did when new.
Keep the seal tight
Most polish problems start at the neck of the bottle. Dried polish there stops the cap from closing, letting air in. Wiping the neck clean and closing the bottle firmly after every use is the easiest way to reach the full 24 months.
